This tour is tailor-made for The Pearl Travel`s clients with a desire to spend 1 more night in Serengeti on the 6-day tour. You will be sightseeing in Arusha for 1 day, followed by Tarangire (with an option of Lake Manyara), followed by 3 days and 2 nights in Serengeti, ending with 1 day and one 1 night in Ngorongoro. This is a camping safari with an extra bonus of sleeping 2 nights in a budget lodge with a private bathroom!

Day to day Itinerary

Day 01 :
 Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Airport pick-up to Arusha

Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to Haradali Homes Lodge. If time permits, you can enjoy an optional Arusha city tour, exploring the city’s highlights such as a renowned art gallery, the Cultural Heritage Centre, the lively local market, and the colorful Maasai market, offering a great introduction to Tanzanian culture before your safari begins.

Day 02 :
Arusha to Tarangire

Your safari adventure officially begins today. After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and enjoy a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its vast elephant herds and iconic ancient baobab trees. Game drives in an open-roof safari vehicle allow you to take in the sweeping savannahs, seasonal swamps, and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River, where sightings may include giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, warthogs, lions, leopards, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch at a viewpoint overlooking the park before continuing your game drive. In the late afternoon, you’ll travel to Fig Tree Lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 03 :
Fig Tree Lodge to Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands on a fascinating en-route game drive that takes approximately four to five hours. Along the way, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch before entering the park for an afternoon game drive across the vast Serengeti plains. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll continue to Seronera Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay. Weather permitting, there will be a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint just beyond the park gate, offering a memorable panoramic view of the crater from above.

Day 04 :
Full-day game drive in Serengeti

Today is dedicated to a full day of exploration in the Serengeti National Park. Setting out at sunrise, you’ll enjoy extensive game drives across the park’s stunning landscapes in search of the Big Five and other iconic wildlife. You’ll return to camp for a hot lunch before heading back out for an afternoon game drive, discovering more of what makes the Serengeti so extraordinary. Beyond its famous large mammals, the park is also a haven for birdlife, with over 500 recorded species ranging from towering ostriches and striking secretary birds to majestic black eagles gliding above the plains. After a rewarding day in the wild, you’ll return to camp at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay. Optional experiences such as a hot air balloon safari or a guided walking safari can be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 05 :
Serengeti to Simba Campsite, Ngorongoro

An early start around 6:00 a.m. gives you the chance to experience the Serengeti at sunrise, when wildlife is at its most active. You’ll enjoy a morning game drive followed by a memorable bush breakfast at a scenic picnic site before continuing your wildlife exploration. After returning to camp for a hot lunch, you’ll depart the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay at Simba Campsite on the crater rim.

Day 06 :
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

An early departure at around 6:00 a.m. takes you down into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, with a packed breakfast to enjoy along the way. This natural wonder is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to see many species native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. Covering approximately 260 square kilometers and nearly 20 kilometers in diameter, the crater provides five to six hours of exceptional game viewing. After ascending from the crater, you’ll return to camp for a hot lunch before driving back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening around 5:00–6:00 p.m., marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.

  • Tips for guides and porters (recommended $15–$20 per day per climber)
  • Accommodation before or after the trek in Arusha or Moshi
